Agriculture in Ban Mae Surin Camp in July 2011

COERR continues supporting the agricultural project in Ban Mae Surin refugee camp in Khun Yuam district, Mae Hong son Province. In July, after the previous harvesting had been done, the refugee farmers were ready to start the new season. 196 farmers rushed to the Agriculture Office for vegetable seeds.
This is the highest number of beneficiaries in this year. More farmers use areas outside the camp for farming than inside. From the follow-up, more farmers have tried to keep the seeds for next season planting, which is the self-supporting way.

Throughout the month, 100.570 kg. of seeds were distributed and the produces were 14,509 kg.
